The management of the International Film Festival in Venice chose the Tunisian movie “The Man Who Sold His Skin” for the director, Kawthar Bin Haniyeh, as part of the official films participating in this year’s tournament.
The film was one of the distinguished projects participating in the platform of the El Gouna International Film Festival. It will be shown at the 77th edition of the Venice Film Festival, which will be held from 2-12 September 2020.
The movie tracks the journey of Sam Ali, a Syrian migrant to Lebanon, to escape the war in Syria, and hopes to join his beloved in Paris, stuck in Lebanon, without any travel documents.
Sam attends art gallery openings in Beirut to drink and eat, to be watched by a contemporary American artist, contracted with him, and to change the course of his life.
